These same “Guardians” are the inspiration behind the renaming of Cleveland’s baseball team from the “Indians.” I wondered what it would look like to consider the guardians of the city as a woman/women of color – not just in terms of a logo for a sports team, but to remember the spiritual essence of Mother Nature as manifest in Cleveland’s other moniker “the forest city.” Truly it is the duality of Mother Nature who guards The Land.
